What type of bulbs do you use with your JDMs?

I am getting my JDMs later this week and I was wondering what colored bulbs people used. I know that the type of bulb is no longer 9005 and 9006, what I mean is do most people get Hyper White bulbs, Cool Blue (slight tint of blue) or just use normal yellowish colored bulbs?

Also, if your JDMs came with colored bulbs, what were they? I am just trying to get an idea of the norm, I am not getting an HID setup so dont bother mentioning that. Thanks everyone.

I received mine with regular bulbs, nothing special. I replaced those with Polarg superwhite H4's H1's and corner bulbs.

I'm not much into the JDM look so I didn't care if they were hooked up the JDM way and had amber corners.

yeah, the polarg B1 hybrid is what i have pat, they are really really nice...

Also, check out suvlights.com, they have a great selection of bulbs

I recommend Narva gold H1's for the highs and philips or hella for the lows..

I'm getting my JDM headlights in a few days too. For the meantime I'll just use the bulbs that it comes with. Later on if I have enough $$$ I'll get a real HID kit.

The JDM's have H4's, H1's and wedge corner bulbs.

The H4's are a dual fillament which if connected the correct way, can be used as the low and the high beam. The H1's would be city or driving lights.

In my case, I connected the H4's as my low beam and the H1's are my high beam which we all know when we turn on our high beams both the low and high beams are on (H4 and H1 are lit).

In both cases the wedge corner bulb works the same.

Hope that clears it up for you.

Mark

Pat, do a search here for JDM Headlight Wiring and you will find a bunch of threads outlining the process. It is done using a relay system. It definitely can be done but is too much work for me.
