yeah it really doesn't matter what we think anyway, since they're both dealer cars, you can't go to the salesperson and say that a guy named 4thGenReady2Go from a website called preludeonline.com said this or that, just use kbb, edmunds.com or another publication/service which provides reasonable dealer-sold used car quotes, and work from there.

what I can offer is that yes, definitely buy a VTEC, I bought an Si thinking "well, no good VTECs around, this'll be just fine" and ended up here, now, desiring an H22, and probably about to spend a good deal of money on one. It's a great car, regardless, but I feel that if you're to own a Prelude, you might as well get the best, and that is, without a doubt, a VTEC.

^^^ while that is true think about this.

Most of the VTEC's out there are driven by people who know what they have. This means that it is either tricked out or beaten on daily.

I bought an Si as I was not able to find a VTEC in time. I am very glad that I did. Not only was I able to get a JDM H22 with 10 more horses but it has very few miles and was bolted to an automatic in it's previous life. I also gained the knowledge and experience of working on my car by swapping in the motor myself.

If I had it all to do over again, I would most likely buy a VTEC but I think I ended up with a much better car in the end this way.

^^ but how did you know the JDM h22 you bought wasn't beat on? Same principal applies. I bought an Si and wish I'd taken more time to find a VTEC, turns out a guy recently who joined GLPO told me he found his green VTEC with 60,xxx miles on autotrader (same resource i had used) about 2 weeks after I gave up my search for a VTEC and settled for the middle child.
