What size wheel to race my prelude.

Hi,I am Paul from Yorkshire in England. After years of track days on bikes I have gone to cars. The choice of car was simple.Honda prelude BB1 H22a purely for the engine. So BOUGHT a 92 BB1,changed,brakes,suspention,clutch,exaust and ecu and chip..stripped interior, fitted intercooler and just about to fit turbo and roll cage.AS a newby to preludes do any of you race or do track days. What size wheel should I use.The stock is 15 inch 205/55/15.The car came with 17s.I can get a good supply of ex touring car slicks which are 20/62/17.Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am sure some of you must have reved the engine to 8500rpm on a track.cheers

What does revving an engine to 8500 rpms have to do with finding a good racking wheel?

And as for your question, get 16" wheels, they're probably the best compromise for contact patch versus lightness you can find for your 4th gen.

Edit: Also, it's okay to put two spaces after every period and one space after comma's

Wouldn't the rim size depend on what kind of racing/track? I imagine it's not drag racing, but I just want to be sure.

For racing that involves turns, I agree with 16" diameter. I'd go wider than stock, so 16X7 or 16x7.5.

I can't believe something as simple as spaces after periods can be forgotten.

The 'engine revs' was a question to get people who race cars to answer.

Sorry about not been gramatically correct, anyway another prelude site has told me everything about racing Preludes on tracks and 15 is the route everyone says to go.

Hope this helps anyone else who wants to race a prelude rather than drive one

Besides the fact that your tachometer doesn't go past 8,000 rpms, I am wondering why you think you need to rev that high or how accurate it gets after you've basically ignored your redline.

Is your car setup for racing? Is the engine built? If not, you're looking to destroy it by revving that high.

If you're running stock ecu, I do believe the cutoff is 7600 rpm.

Oh yeah, the tach is way off when it goes that high.
