Im lookin to pick up a carsound catalytic converter asap an the part number they told me to get is for 2" piping an that didn't sound quite right so I thought i would ask before I ordered it.

BTW the part number is Magnaflow # 53004

If i rembmer right stock piping is 2 1/4.

2.25" is the stock pipe diameter.

Actually the stock exhaust piping is 2.0'' . Same with the header collector.

So what kind of piping is appropiate with basical bolt-ons?

2.5 is optimal for N/a setups if you can get it to run consistent from the header collecter through the cat and then the exhaust piping.

I disagree machine head, I have a 2.5 set up and with a four cylinder motor even though the 2.2 is one of the larger displacement 4's, I felt a dramatic loss in low end, I think 2.25 is better. But it's definately up to the driver and what style they like, for top end or low end.

yeah...i have a apexi n1 full cat back (w/o the cat) thats 2.5" and i still lose some low end, but gain high end power

i got 2.25 piping. i got the ebay cat and its 2.25, fitted like a charm on the dc headers and the cat back
