What Size Brake rotors do I need for my 95 SE Front and Rear?!?

I been to 3 stores, and they all keeps asking me if I have the larger or smaller ones?

They want the MM diameter, I dont have any metric measuring tools? and I need both fronts, and both rears.

I know i have antilock brakes, but I thought that was standard.. I explained to them it was a 1995 Honda Prelude SE 5 speed 2.3L DOHC.. and they still tell me theres two different brake sizes for the fronts, and 2 for the rears.. are they playing with my head.. can someone here please tell me asap what sizes i need so I can change them sucessfully? (in MM I guess)

help appreciated! ~ Brett

Just don't get the VTEC sizes (11.1" OD). Those guys don't know what they're talking about. All SE's had the S/Si rotor sizes (10.2" OD). Only the VTEC had the larger diameter front rotors. Oh yeah, all rear rotors are identical for 4th and 5th gens, no matter what the trim.

I get a discount on auto parts, so I just order them through my friends shop. Thanks for the advice though on the brembo's I'll try them when I need brakes done again.

Thanks for the brake sizes! I needed to know if it was the 10"+ or the 11"+.. I guess it's the 10"+ Thats what I assumed it was because I figured if there was bigger ones, it was reserved for the VTEC models.

This saturday I'll go borrow the tool to get the rear rotors off with and I'll have all new brakes finally installed.

Then I troubleshoot this low oil pressure problem and stalling at lights and stops.

You can install the VTEC sized rotors, along with VTEC calipers, they bolt up without any modification.

The Screw driver holds on the front rotors, I see theres some tools required for the rear change, maybe i'm wrong but the service manual lists specialty tools? I have acess to everything under the sun just about so any tool I may need will be easy to get. If its just a phills head screw driver like the front, then im in good shape i got that in the console, lol.

Yep, you are. The rear rotors are attached just like the fronts, 2 phillips head screws (just gotta unbolt the caliper and bracket first). The screws are usually very, very difficult to remove due to corrosion but a lot of people have had luck using an impact driver. Just a heads up, but you need to rotate the rear pistons to compress them back into the caliper (as opposed to the fronts, which are pressed ). You can stick some long, skinny tool into the piston-face slots to rotate it, or there is a tool (cheap and any parts store should have one . . . they look like a little cube with pins sticking out) that mounts to a 3/8" rachet and does the same thing.

Not true. The 5th gen has 5-lug rotors and the 4th gen has 4-lug. ALL 4th and 5th gens DO use the same rear brake pads though.

I got all the brake pads, and all 4 brake rotors for a great price! I pick up the rears tomorrow because they shipped the wrong ones to the shop, but anyway ill have it all done tomorrow and thats one less thing on my worry list for this car! haha

I wonder if i will figure out that growling/ rattling/ scraping engine sound at 2,500 - 3,500 rpms. Thats really my concern.
