My motor recently blew up (literally something came off and now im getting it replaced with a JDM H23 non-vtec. What parts can I get to make this thing faster for not too much money. I wanna get it to 200 horse minimum by summer.
I have heard about the jdm h23a before.....too many people have it for it to not exist.
I would suggest spending a little more and getting the h22a. More bang for your buck and it's a direct swap. If you're in Birmingham, AL I may be able to help....
Yeah I meant to edit that yesterday, the Ascot Innova came with the same motor the US market Prelude had, not sure if it's exactly the same though.
interesting, I learned something. They are probably the same, or close enough. The specs on those pages show a few more tq, but that could just be the ecu
There is no JDM H23 non-vtec btw, the H23a1 was on the US market only, whoever told you that is either dumb or screwing you over.
I wish i could i have an automatic tranny though and the h22 needs manual. Cant retune ECU to accept it so im S.O.L for the h22. Any other suggestions.
Would turbocharger work with the 9.8:1 compression?
I don't see a auto trans that was made to granny through traffic lasting on a turbo car but to answer your question, yes, you can boost the stock motor and be somewhat reliable, all depends on the tune.
If you want performance, ditch the auto a get a manual. If you really for whatever reason have to keep the auto there are TCU's from the JDM prelude vtec as you could get it with a LSD auto trans in Japan. Will probably be very hard to find though and I don't even know the code for that TCU.

Thanks but I think I've decided to sell it. Its still in great shape with no rust so i can get a bit for it and get a faster car (no offense to the prelude).
