What motor???

Got a 93 lude, h22a1 bone stock, spun a bearing. I do not want to rebuild, just replace, what are my options as far as different motors with my factory ecu and tranny. I have these figures pulled from a different site but don't know if they are legit

jdm h23a vtec spec
Horsepower: 215hp@7100rpm
Torque: 169lbs-ft@5300rpm
Redline: 7600rpm

jdm h22a1 spec
Horsepower: 200hp@6800rpm
Torque: 161lbs-ft@5500rpm
Redline: 7200rpm

jdm h22a-s spec
Horsepower: 225hp@7200rpm
Torque: 163lbs-ft@6500rpm
Redline: 7200rpm

Obviously i want the s spec or whatever it is called. What restrictions do I have and what needs to be done to get more than the same h22a1.

Any info would be appreciated thanks

I would go with the 200hp jdm h22.

btw, there is no 1 on the jdm motor. h22a = JDM, h22a1 = USDM 4th gen, h22a4 = USDM 5th gen

while you CAN get the s-spec, it will be a pain to make it work. you will have to do something with the ATTS (it will never work on your car....) by way of an adapter plate or something. Get the regular h22. if it were me, I would rebuild your h22. everyone is looking for a h22 nowadays

Well I would rebuild which leads me to my question. If your so against rebuilding how much do you want for your blown H22? Id sooner buy a blown H22 than go down the street here in Garland TX and buy a jdm motor. Cheaper,Stronger, faster when rebuilt.

From my personal experience my built motors ex:b16a with eagle rods and vitara pistons with a little bit of headwork was cheaper is stronger and is faster than my stock b16.

I guess H22 are totally different.

Don't know where you got your specs from, but I wouldn't buy from there if they're selling stuff..

Specializing in JDM-USDM Engines & Parts...hmotorsonline.com - Best place to buy from.

Long Block options:
H22A - Direct Swap if you buy the OBD1 Version.

F20B - Will need to be converted though.. And I dunno if it'll run off the stock ECU.

There are other blocks that would work, with slight modification, but they only come as complete swaps, not long blocks.

Im not against rebuilding, I just have no idea where to start and have a feeling it would cost way more than I am expecting and become a headache. I don't know how much a blown goes for, 300 bucks???

Well,I was only suggesting the rebuild because stock JDM never gave me the power I was looking for. If it sounds like a hassle to deal with a motor build then my vote for you would be on the stock h22 replacement.

well thank you captain obvious...... obviously if you "build" a motor with pistons and rods its going to be faster

but we are not talking about that here....we're talking about a guy who spun a bearing....and it is NOT cost effective to rebuild

A "built" motor is the same thing as a rebuilt motor. The only difference is the quality of parts you use in a rebuild.
It seemed that I needed to break it down to captain obvious after being told I was telling people bs.
