What Intake?

I've decided to get a CAI for the first mod. Just need some opinions and suggestions to which brand I should go for. I was looking into AEM since I hear nothing but good things, but you guys think the v2 is worth it? What other brands are good and will give me a nice "growl" for the sound, thanks.

I just assumed the v2 was out for the 4th. Sounds like AEM is the best bet.

Due to the fact that I have seen the V1 for the Prelude getting discounted I would guess that the V2 is not too far away.

If the V2 does come out for the 4th gen. do you guys think the gains would be any better? it seems like it is shaped more like the type s intake and would prolly have the same top end but better low end.

I'm perfectly happy w/ my old school HKS Super Mega Flow. Yeah it's a short ram, but w/ our cars, it's hard to get much Hp out of an intake...ya know??? Now the RSX engine, that's a different story...

i have an Iceman and i don`t have any problems wiht it. It is a two piece design so you can change it from a cold air to a short ram as you please. It also doesnt require making the hole any bigger.

well you cant go wrong with any intake, IMO the intake dont' mean ****. it about CAI or short ram, maybe the V2, next comes pipping size, the 4th gen ususally are 2.75 and the 5th gen are 3 incs, i dont' know the differnet in performance, i mean how hard is it to make a 2.75 inch alium pipe. really i have a generic intake, with a CARB sticker ( dont' ask where i got one, cause i cant' get more) and currently have a AEM long neck filter, differnt in pwer gain, i am bettin 1 to zero if i switch to a AEM CAI.

AEM isn't making the V2 for the Prelude. I've asked AEM on the phone at least once about it

I have an Iceman myself. It seems to perform well, I had the AEM CAI on my last Lude and wasn't terribly impressed. Iceman seems to have better lowend power also due to the tapered design which improves intake velocity.

whether or not the V2 is coming out for the lude, I just wanna let you guys know how it actually works. It's not just a 4" pipe that tapers to the TB. It's like a velocity stack intake. It has a pipe inside of the pipe, at a certain length, so that the air going in goes down the outer pipe, dead ends and bounces back, and timed right (by the length of the pipe) helps to push the air going into the inner pipe go faster. Dunno if that makes sense or not, but in any case, it's not just a 4" pipe, it's got a secondary function.

I'll try almost anything once...except for the obvious.
