What the hell happened? (audio question)

I got in my car this morning and started it up. Everything looked fine. Then I look at my deck (Sony X-Plod CDX-C7000X (yeah I know, I know)). My deck was blank. Usually when it's 'off', it displays the time. Or when it is on it'll say the CD track or radio station. But nothing. I press the button to switch it on, and then it turns on, slowly, but I hear nothing. I even put in a cd, then hear nothing. I ended up having to turn it up ALL the way and even then I could barely hear anything. What the heck happened? It was in my garage all night, so I'm not sure if it was just cold - it's never done that before. Any suggestions?

maybe check the fuses... it should have power from a constant source and accessory power. I'd bet that the constant source fuse blew and that's why it doesn't display when the ignition is off and why it plays so quitely.

Well, I forgot to mention that after I pulled over from driving to my destination, I simply pushed the reset button and everything seemed to work fine. Just curious why this would have happened.

if you have an amp thats probably the reason
i had the same problem when i first installed mine
the power to the amp was loose....
not too hard to fix...

if you dont have an amp... i really dont know
try the fuses or some of the connection wires...

not to slam on Sony or anything, but thats the reason. i have installed and used tons of sony decks, and i've never found one that isn't quirky like that.
