If you think about it. Honda probably sold an assload more preludes in Japan than here...
And you think there's a big demand for H22a swaps becuase you are in the scene. I mean really they are not selling 1000's of h22a engines a month or anything close to that
I'm glad I wasn't the only paranoid JDM whore on this board... I've often wondered the same thing, myself. I think we'll be alright for a long while, though.

Anybody want to buy my Lude? (Will sell in either stock or fairly modded trim).
The way i see it, if or when they do run out they are just going to take old used ones and rebuild them like they do with every other late model engine...Here in california Kragen sells rebuilt late model engines.

they wont run out anytime soon at all...think how many cars the H22a comes in....all the ludes in japan...accord SiRs, youve also got the accord type R, they type S, all the JDM ludes in europe, and austrailia, new zealand, thats a whole lot of ludes....i wouldnt even sweat it...
I was wondering the same thing, but not just with H22s. It seem like everyone is going through B-Series motors like oil filters.I know Toyota still makes new 2JZ-GTE motors even though the Supra has been out of production here for over 4 years.

Well, if you build it they will come, haha
If there is enough demand for it im sure someone will be making sure there are plenty of engines. I got a 92 H22a. But i also got a 94 so the engine years are totally mixed. Im glad i got mine b4 they ran out. I think i will never get rid of this one. If it blows it will be time for Sleeves and low compression Pistons, well then you know what comes next. haha

Dart makes INCREDIBLY NICE b series blocks, but I think they cost about $2k for a bare block. The are machined (or cast?) out of an aluminum alloy that is higher grade than stock Honda blocks. Mostly for high boost FI applications (20+ psi).

I ordered a JDM H22, I was referring to the Dart aftermarket B series blocks just to illustrate that companies are STILL PRODUCING honda blocks. Only problem is, they run about $2500 for a BARE block.
