What are good brakes to get, how hard is the install?

I need new rear brakes ASAP, and I am gonna need new fronts in a few months. For the fronts I am probably gonna do a 2psiton legend conversion, or just a VTEC conversion. I have more time to deal with that though.

Anyway, I need new brakes pads and rotors. This is for a daily driver, so they have to have decent longevity. I dont want to have to deal with messy ones eitehr (i.e. no brake dust). So who makes good pads? As for the rotors, who makes good rotors that are not gonna warp/crack? Here in Cali it is hot as hell, and we are approaching summers that it 120 degress at its peak. Therefore what are good heat resistant rotors? Also should I get Slotted, x-drilled, or both?

Lastly is the install. How hard is it to install the rotors and pads? I ahve never done any break work, but have all the hand tools and jack/stands, and what not. How long should the install take? How hard is it? How hard is it too mess up? Should I leave it to the pros and waste my money on the install, or do i t myself? I just dont want to mess up, since the brakes are so crucial.

Thanks, Jordan

I got some 93-95 Acura Legend LS/GS calipers, and used some Brembo OEM blanks.. They bolted on nice and stop HARD! Here's a link to see some pics:

The install is pretty simply. Took me about a 40-60 minutes to do the front and rear is not much harder.

When I do the front I will probably do Legend Calipers. For now I am just gnona do the rears though. So you would recommend Brembo OEM blanks? Better than slotted or drilled?

Thanks, jordan
