What goes into a tune up?

ok... well im at 85k miles on mah 96 lude and i know its time for a tune up but what do i EXACTLY need to replace? i went to my local import store and there charging me 900$$ for a full tune-up...They said they'd replace everything with aftermarket parts but what could possibly cost so much? i know that you need new spark plugs, which costs like 12 bucks... but what else?

from the normal maintance schedule, at 90,000 you should:

oil/filter change
replace air filter
check valve clearance
replace timing belt
adjust drive belts
replace tranny fluid
replace brake fluid
rotate tires
inspect brakes & parking brake

at 60k or 75k you should have:

checked dist cap, rotor, wires
replaced fuel filter
inspect idle speed
inspect pcv valve
coolant flush
replace abs high pressure hose

Personally, when I do a tune-up it would basically involve changing plugs, checking cap, rotor, wires, cleaning filter on my CAI, checking valve clearance.

I just did a partial tune-up today... put in NGK plugs, Magnecor wires, and OEM cap/rotor. I just adjusted valves last month and put my new cai on a few weeks ago so those were fine.
