What Goes Into Installing RS Lip?

I tried a search and read up on the RS lips threads, but I was wondering how to install either by myself or shop. Ok let me give you a scenario.

Suppose I go buy the lip from this guy named "Gordan".

Now what? I assume I must get it fitted on first or are WW RS lips prefitted and ready for paint and install?

Please let me know. Thanks!

It prolly wont be painted, you could fit it first, or paint it... It should be too hard, it should just screw into place.

I hear ya...but do you keep it on for weeks prior to paint or what? My main questions actually is..can I install to real quick and fit it accordingly then paint it and install same day?

I don't want to drive with a white lip around town. That's why.

Wings West RS Lips do not come painted. You can though order it painted. They come in a dark grey color ready for painting. You shouldn't have to test fit it since wings west products are supposed to fit pretty good. All you have to do is get it painted then install it. Installing requires some screws and double stick tape.

I wanted to mold it. From what ive heard, it is bad. The problem is that urethane it flexalbe, so when the bumper flexes (hitting a bump or anything), it can crack the bond between the bumper and lip/cracking the paint.

It looks tight, but just doesnt seem pratical for a car that is driven alot.

This has been the concensus of at least 5 different people/body shops I have asked.

I'll just add that it might be better to have the whole front bumper painted at the same time as the lip. This way there will be no differences in paint shades as the bumper will have faded slightly. Not much, but enough to show up when a freshly painted lip is attached to it!!
