What gauges would be most helpfull in your 4th gen??

I just bought an autometer digital air/fuel gauge and it seams a little lonley so I'd like to get another gauge. Just not sure wich would be most helpfull.

Water Temp: cuz I never know how hot my car realy is with the stock gauge

Exhaust temp: cuz it would be cool to see just how hot my Sh!t can get when I'm on the pedal

Oil pressure: good saftey feature

Vacume pressure: uuugh I don't know why I would need this??

-= A lot more exact than the crap OEM one that we have. Handy too.

-= Pointless if you are not running FI. Plus the sending unit for this is freaking expensive.

Oil pressure: good saftey feature.
-= Your Best Best.

Vacume pressure: uuugh I don't know why I would need this??
-= You don't

I have
Oil Pressure and Water Temp.

For the water temp sender I took out the Coolant bolt at the back of the block above the oil filter, tapped it and mounted the Oil Pressure sender in the bolt. Works great and fits excellent. This is the best place I have found to mount the sender.

Hope that helps.

i have air/fuel and oil press.

the oil pressure is basically for informational purposes. it won't warn you if the pressure drops unless you look at it, by that time its too late anyways. autometer has warning lights for the electrical sweep meters. i have mechanical so...

the air/fuel has definitely paid off, i've used it numerous times to diagnose a rich or lean problem. i just does what it does, and luckily i've had to use its information on a couple occassions. maybe not luckily, but it was there to help me out

I think I am going to go with the water temp. Could ya give me more info on how/where you mounted the sender again? It'll save me time

check the 2nd and 3rd pic, On the back of the block, there is a COOLANT DRAIN BOLT. Take it out, take it to a machine shop or drill it and tap it youself with the proper thread size for theh Autometer Electric temp sensor and do the wiring. Once you have the sender tapped in the bolt just put the bolt back in with some anti-seize compound on the bolt and you should be fine! This is probably the BEST location to mount the sender. I never seen anybody set it up at this location except myself.

Thanks for the pics, I just installed my Air/fuel gauge and come to find out I have been runing pretty rich all this time.

Hey I dig those floor mats, I left mine at a carwash and they vanished before I could go back and get them, now I need a new set. OEM ones are like $90 but yours look like they fit prety well. Where did you get them and how much did they cost you?

Vacuum is there so you could know if you are driving fuel efficiently for the most part.
