what gains will i get with a throttle body on my setup

My car has i/h/e, ignition, vafc, and crower stage 2 cams with full valvetrain. Will a throttle body alone make any noticable difference on my cars performance? If I get the TB then i will purchase a intake manifold later on.

It might make a slight improvement, but it'd be barely noticable. I personally would wait and get an IM and TB at the same time and get them matched to each other, then a gain should certainly be felt.

Obviously it doesn't add any hp, but it does make the car more responsive and very touchy. What size are you going with? You have basicly the same set up I had, I had the TB from GUDE. Very nice, highly recommend them. As far as IM I ran a stock H22 IM without the secondary runners that was P&P from GUDE matched to my head. This whole set up on H23vtec was insaine. Just a flick of the gas pedal and it snapped you back.

check em out at www.gude.com Mine was a 70mm, cost, I got a package deal, my head, IM and the TB all as one. So I don't really know the price of just the TB.

gude is crap, I haven't heard a good review on them yet. Your stock TB will more than flow the amount of air your engine is pumping. It's not restricting flow; don't mess with it.. Save the money and look into a really good P&P or like was mentioned earlier portmatch, maybe extrudehone the IM since You don't have any aftermarket options.

DAmn right, Ronnie. Gude sponsored a BUNCH of cars in the Battle of the Imports series...and they seemed to pull pretty damn well. I think they got a bad rap, just like JG, from a few high-profile Ludes, that were maxed out, NA performance-wise, and blew their engines.

The Gude H23 performance head package was sold with bad tolerances. on Honda-Tech a few guys that bought it had problems with the head being shaved too far. They couldn't get their cams into speck with adjustable cam gears, and then when they got them close to speck the pistons started hitting the valves. That is crap. Above that their customer service department is terrible. A while back I E-mailed them several times reguarding parts/fitment and what not. The only response I got was a "check the website" E-mail. That's my personal experience, and that of others combined. I would not deal with Gude.

Back on topic. Do something other than a TB.

Well me and quite a few others I know all had great experiences with them and had no problems with cam fittment or valve clearance. And on topic if you want a more responsive throttle then get a TB.
