what is F20A engine? Where is it from?

I got F20A on my engine. Have no idea why it is there when I bought it. But, it seems alright to me. Can anybody tell me what is F20A engine and where (what car) is F20A from?

Thanks

nada, 3rd gens had b20a5 and b21a1... i'm thinking something more like an accord... although, the 4th gens did have an f22 stock...

The F20A is the Accord Type-R motor I believe. Also, there is an F20 in the bottom of the line Prelude in Japan, as well as England. The S2000 engine is also designated F20, however, I highly doubt that is the motor in your car.

Does the valve cover say VTEC on it? If it is, it's probably the ATR motor, if not, then it's probably the JDM Prelude motor.

Thanks for the info.

BTW, it's not a VTEC for sure. But I just wanna know what is the specs of this engine.

I myself suspect this is from Accord. Maybe JDM Accord. Anyway, what is the HP and torque of it?

Thanks

OK,

I took cantdrive's post about it being from UK and searched the interweb. The F20A is from the UK 92-96 Prelude 2.0i.

131 HP and 179 Torque

But, I'm not sure if it was also available in any Accords. Time for more research!

That's a lot of torque! Are you sure about that?

It's a JDM Accord motor

F20A 9.5 : 1 150@6100 rpm 137 lb/ft @5000 rpm

http://www.nippon-motors.com/prices.htm says it replaces the F22a, is your car an S model? If so it's a good upgrade.

The 2.0 lude in the UK is crap, no guts to it. Owning a 2.0 over here is like owning a Fresco Blue car in the US.

I'm sorry Garry, but I, as well as the rest of the Prelude community I'm sure, do not value a person's opinion regarding the exterior of vehicles who has these on his own car.
