I believe it's a straight swap. Though you'll probably want to rebuild those calipers though.

It's a straight swap.

Did you ever consider the legend 2 piston caliper swap. It's also straight up and you can use vtec sized rotors as well.

How much of a advantage is there? Are the vtec or legend rotors and calipers that much bigger and better? Or would it be cost effect to just buy a big brake kit, with some nice drilled rotors?

Check out this tread about the Legend 2 piston caliper swap

If you go the route of a big brake kit such as the AEM kit, you can only run 17 inch rims or larger to clear the oversized rotor.

It's a direct swap for the front calipers as long as you have the vtec rotors.

Yup, what he said. I had this swap done, and it didn't take long, and yes, you will feel a difference. When I had it done, I put in the rebuilt VTEC calipers, some Hawk HP Plus pads, fresh fluid, and stainless steel, braided brake lines, and I was more than pleased. Sure, the Legend calipers are nice, but I think it's easier to find VTEC calipers (I THINK...).

But what's never been covered and I asked 5 times in 3 separate forums is whether the 5th gen calipers will fit on the 4th gen! This I'd love to know... just adds more parts to keep an eye out for, making this swap easier to do...

I guess I'm guilty of telling people to search certain topics, too... the ones that are asked 1-10 times a week, like which exhaust sounds the best, or which springs "should I get?," etc. $$Lude and I aren't trying to be d!cks, we're just trying to point people in a GREAT direction to find a wealth of information. No harm, no foul, but the search function really does help.
