what do you think is the market value of my 4th gen.......
Hey guys, i know i haven't posted in here in a long ass time but i've always been browsing. Maybe because of the fact that i was constantly browsing and posting for 2 1/2 years straight and i just got tired of it. Also because of the fact that i've been helping my brother out with his BMW 318ti project or i should call it a "M-ti" now I also read about what happened to the fellow 4th genner "Jape" and that just really f-ing blows. I send my condolences to his friends and family and whoever was close with him on this board.
Now to get on with my intended post. I'm going to be selling my 95 Prelude very soon for something much more versatile and much quicker. ~30k price range. You can try and guess. I just wanted to see all 4th genners educated guesstimates on what ya'll think i could get for my car.
The pictures i have posted are all not that good and not up to date but it can give you an idea. They don't do my car justice(that's what they all say) I'll get on to listing what it's all about:

you can get at least 10 for it. I would pay up to 12 if I say it on the lot. You might be able to make more if you part it out though. It is hard to find buyers for a car that is already been hooked up.
Originally posted by prelude2005 I have been offered 10k plus for mine...
you should be able to get more.
But, damn dood, I would hate to see it go, that is a balack beauty!
4th gens are so hard to find now a days.
Good luck!
Sorry but what I have seen when you start getting higher than 10g's they want the newer prelude or a different car. And from what I have seen and delt with most won't pay that much for a modded car, cause they know how most cars are treated. things might be different in texas but what I have delt with takes place in Colorado and NM

True dat!!! 100% agree, when it comes down to the deal, they usually won't pull through!
Sorry to see you sell the Prelude Tom. Hopefully you'll be happy with your decision.
I would say you can get between 11k and 12k for the car if the right person comes along and I don't mean a sucker because I know how you treat the car and it shows in the condition.
I wish you would have mentioned selling your car sooner because I would have definitely bought it from you. I ended up with a Mazdaspeed but I would have loved another good looking Prelude as a daily driver and no monthly payments.
Well hey, if you can afford something nicer now, I say go for it but I'll be sad to see it go. You gave me the prelude modding inspiration. It's a great car and if you need someone to back you up on that, I'll be a reference any time. You should be able to get a good deal on it for sure - Preludes are pretty hard to find around here, it took me about two months just to find my SI. Good luck.
It's too bad you selling your car. I have no clue what preludes go for south of the border, but up here in Canada I would suspect you could easily get 18-20g for it if you found a buyer wanting a modified car.
I would suggest parting it out but it'd be a crime stripping such a fine piece.
Would you wanna part any of it out. I would like to have the shift knob, front lip, shocks, valve cover, jun flywheel? doubt you will but doesnt hurt to ask.
VULTURES!! lol, I would do the same thing But honestly going through all the disassembling is giving me a headache just thinking about it. I know, i'm a moron and could make more money parting it out but that's a loss i'm willing to take.
As for all your estimates that's right around what i was thinking. I'm going to put it in my local newspaper starting with $13,000. I don't think i'm going to go lower than $12,000 unless the market bears that i guess.
Mark, you sold your fine piece?!? Man, that car was definitely a prelude show stopper. When the hell did you do that? I'm guessing you got the new Mazdaspeed protege? If so that's not a bad car at all and in fact i like it quite a bit. I've read that it's quite the handler. Good choice. Well, if you still want a Prelude i'll give you mine for $12K
Dave,
Heh, man i know. I'm glad that i gave you some incentive to modify your car and it indeed is an awesome car. Have you installed your radiator yet? I'm sorry i never emailed you back, i'm quite the procrastinator. I'll keep you in mind if a buyer ever asks, thanks! By the way, what are you doing May10th?
As for the Volks, I will be selling them. They are 17x7 GTPs model volk racing wheels custom painted to a gloss black in perfect condition. There are also 215/45 Bridgestone Potenza S0-3s mounted onto them that i will be taking off and selling seperately. They have about 6000-7000 miles on them. If anyone is interested in either of these, drop me an email.
As for my next car, here it is:
except i'll be getting silver with gunmetal wheels so it's not as "flashy" if you know what i'm saying. I really don't like being flashy as you can see from my lude. This will be quite a different step.
Tom, fortunately I was able to keep my Prelude and get the Mazdaspeed Protege also. I was considering trading in the Prelude but I just couldn't get rid of it. In the back of my mind, I remember many people on here saying they were sorry they sold their Preludes and I have a feeling I would have felt the same way.
Since I didn't trade in the Prelude I couldn't afford anything extravagant so I got the Mazda. If I got rid of the Prelude I would have ended up with a BMW, STI, EVO or RX-8.
Best of luck to you and I hope you will still stop by when you get the STI. I'm sure you'll have no trouble selling the Prelude.
Good gawd! Are Prelude owners ready to eat their young. That Lude is an awsome piece of the best art of Ludedom and should either be kept and loved or not given away for anything less that $15,000. You cannot find another automobile that comes close the the special technical and design accomplishment of that baby. It is a shame that so many Ludesters seem forced to sell out for cheap what is a classic of the auto industry.
