run the h23 tranny for a little while, and save up for an h22 tranny with a new clutch, flywheel, rebuild things of that nature....

keep h23...like it was said, its set up for the H23 power band...the H22 is all top end power, h23 is NOT...so you dont want a tranny set up for the h22 power band

Got quaife, Runnin 10psi now at track. best ever was a 13.21 and that is way above sea level. All I know is that if I can't break mid 12 's here sonn she is gone. I have spent to much $ and time to get what I wanted from her. I know it's not ment to be that fast and all the other b.s. but as much as I have tried it could be better. My last dyno was 286 WHP.

Not a bad time at all for that power and that elevation. What tires was this on? Why aren't you running more boost?

How's your traction? With that power to the front wheels I'd invest with some sticky tires.

Traction blows. I have even hit 5th gear in a damn 1/4 cause I spin all the way down the track. I am using nitto drag radials. I don't really want to get M/T to race but I might have to. I don't think my car is ready for more boost. I got pistons and other small block work, But there really isn't much of a selection for head work.

I think your times are actually pretty good for drag radials at a high elevation. That might be high 12's at normal elevation, which seems just about right for your power. If you want a better time just get slicks, why wouldn't you want to? You could also just get valvesprings and retainers for pretty cheap and your head would be ready for higher boost. I am assuming you have rods/sleeves as well?

Where did you get valvesprings and retainers from? Yes I have rods sleeves and other bottom end work. What is your time you seem pretty close to what I have. What turbo do you got?

I sent my head to portflow, got a p and p, valve job, springs, and retainers. Since no one really makes dual valve springs for the h23, they adapted the ls springs to fit by using ls spring bases. I never ran my car b/c I had the turbo on for about 3 weeks before I broke my ringlands - those numbers were on stock internals. As soon as the damn machine shop finishes up with my block, I will have rods, pistons, quaife, etc in and will be looking for 350-400 whp. I am running a t3/to4b with a super v compressor and a .63 a/r stage 3 turbine. How bout you, what's your full set-up?

So switching the tranny is a bad idea. Thanks a lot guys. I'll let you know if I break 12's before I sell it.
