What to do with all this CA$H?!

Ok, I dont like working on my car or buying things for it in the cold winter months. It just isnt as fun. So, all winter I've just been setting aside all my spare change, not really paying attention to it. Well, Ive saved up $3,500 and i usually have about $1000 left over after my bills each month. Ive got three choices.

1) Use the current money to completely finish all my exterior and interior styling. Appearance mods. WWRS lip kit, VIS carbon fiber hood, some CF mirrors, CF taillights, new paint job, retint windows, brushed aluminum dash trim kit, sparco shifter, and sparco pedal set.

2) Use the current money to completely rebuild my motor. Ported and polished cylinder head package deal, new clutch and flywheel, and a small shot of nitrous (rarely will use).

3) Wait a couple more months and do everything at one time.

If you have any other suggestions, im all ears. tell me what you think. thanks!

Hmm... I'd rather have a nice sound system, myself. If you don't already have one, consider it.

id rather have the ultimate sleeper than anything else. something on the outside to let people know u got something, then tear them apart off the line. If you go all out on the outside, its expected that have something under the hood.

If I had all that extra cash to blow on my car here is a little list I have compiled... just things I plan on doing. Probably get a few done this summer when I work fulltime.

1. JDM H22 Pistons (new rings, hone cylinder)
2. SAFC
3. RSM w/ G-sensor
4. Oil Pressure Guage
5. Oil Temp Guage
6. Water Temp Guage
7. Cam Gears
8. Shotpeen my stock H23 rods

Wait 4 more months, then you should have 7500. At this point build you motor for boost, and build a turbo kit. the following month buy a clutch, flywheel, and maybe enough left to get a Kaaz at the same time.

These things combined will hope that you speed over your rival

I say build the H23 ready for a turbo kit. If you want real mods, go for that. If I had serious cash like that I wouldnt be wasting my cash on interior or pointless engine mods. I would be going hardcore on my H23 with cams, 2.4 liter bore, cryotreated JE pistons, etc..... the list could go on......

later,
tim

Well, I plan on sticking with NA for my H23... Hopefully I will knock some of those points off of my list this summer. Mostly the pistons and SAFC.

I would disagree. Spending a lot on a system was one of the biggest wastes of money I have done. I would put them to more useful things or better yet save for your next car.

ok good suggestions. but, i hate the sleeper look. i dont race people hardly ever. i dont plan on going to the track. boost is out of the question. my suspension is already built with Tien HA dampers, Ingalls 4wheel camber kit, and front & rear strut bars all riding on 18" Racing Hart M5s utilizing a 35 series tire.
my goal for my car is to be really really good looking and just a little faster than the average joe blow with a 'fixed up import'. thats why i bought a prelude in the first place. i think its better looking than civics and integras, and the si has a lot more kick in the pants than them too. just wanna carry on with that line of thought.

ok well i forgot about the check from my brother-in-law that i have yet to deposit so that bumps me up to $4000 cash money just laying around for my next whim. im just worried about the down time for the engine rebuilt and what im gonna drive in the mean time. down time for exterior stuff is a week max.

Those 18's probably slow ur car down a bit. If you want it to be a little faster, I'd get smaller rims plus other things, obviously.

I like sleepers, and I like audio systems too. To each his own. Personally, I'm planning on saving up and then buying a turbo... with a WRX attached.

i also hate that small rim stuff. i dont dig the 15" black rims. i dont care if they weigh 2lbs. i think they are ugly and make the car look like a piece of trash that need some tender loving care. its not a 92-95 civic hatchback...its a prelude. i'll keep my 18s cuz they are really nice rims...makes the car look really good and they arent slowing me down enough to notice in everyday driving so...

wanting to get my engine rebuilt for performance doesnt mean im all into performance and nothing else. i like a blend of looks and speed. if some of my appearance mods "slow me down" oh well. i want my car to look good! an si with intake/header/exhaust/pulleys isnt something to dismiss as slow just because i have 18s, whereas it would be fast if it had some dookie rims. im not trying to offend anyone who likes the small black wheel look...thats fine...im just saying its not for me. im about the "bling" as well as having a fast car. and when i say fast, i mean everyday driving around it has a nice pull to it...not fast as in im gonna race everybody in sight and win. i dont care about that. i just want it to be a thrill to drive to work and back...which it already is, and look good and catch peoples eyes, which it does as well. damn, didnt mean to ramble...ive got a headache.
