what to do?

here is my situtation...my girlfriend is giving me 2,000 to put into my car...i have a 92 Si with a stock H23 with over 160,000 miles on it...i just got the body worked on and have a complete kit (pics will be up as soon as i get digi cam)...i have a good radio in right now, nothing crazy, MB quart components in front and rear with MTX amp pushing them

with the money i am either looking either:

1) get the JDM H22 Auto (DONT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE AUTO!!! i posted and talk about it many many many many many (get the point) times and i know what everything thinks) but i will have to put in some more money because 2000 isnt enough for it

2) build up my H23. complete block and head build up, make stronger for future plans (turbo or nitrous)

3) buy rims, amp/box/subs, racing seats and other little stuff that i can dress up the car

i am looking to see if i should put the money into the motor i have now, get the h22 swap, or if the h23 is strong enough to last another 50,000+ miles make the car look better...what should i do?

depends on if u are show or go? if u are go...i woudln't get the auto even if it's an h22. building up the h23 sounds good to me if you're planning on keeping the car for a while.

i have auto now anyway...so if i keep my h23 and build it up it, would it be faster than a h22? if putting a lot of money into the h23 wont make it faster than a h22 i dont want to waste my money...this is the stuff that i am unsure of...what do you think?

I've heard the JDM H22 auto got 4th gens in the low 15's...so thats not bad

hmm, since u would have to put more more money...I might go with option 3 for now

3) buy rims, amp/box/subs, racing seats and other little stuff that i can dress up the car

atleast you will have more to show....the H22 auto can wait a bit

is that low 15 stock? i would be putting on i/h/e when i get the money too and probally pullies and gears...i want to do 3 but i am afraid that i get all that stuff on and then the motor blows and i am stuck with a nice looking car....stuck in my driveway....if my motor is realible i would go 3 but its not...previous owner drove for 150,000 miles with stock everything...belts, pumps, gaskets, and everything....i am not sure how long the motor has ...haha maybe i can talk her into giving me 4000 to get everything

yeah, try that lol

Yup, low 15's stock..saw it on a few Jap sites and someone who swapped on in in the states...pretty surprising. Well if the engine is kinda poop and in bad shape I would go with the H22..otherwise option 3

Go for the swap! I'm saving up for the same one (manual though). It's cool to have a good looking car but if it's just gonna die you mine as well get a newer faster engine and save the dress up stuff for later. I did simple stuff to start off: springs, shocks, tint, lights and now I'm saving up for the power. If your car looks decent now definitely go for the engine.

If you find a good deal on some h22's let me know.

thanks jose i will have to go there with you and give it a look...if its the same price i would convert to manual but i know that the conversion costs more....how much would it cost around to do the jdm h22 5 spd conversion? if that is cheap i will do that but if i am right it will cost an extra 300 in parts and 500 in labor

You won't be able to do #1 or #2 with the money you have, and I doubt you could do #3 unless you're talking one or the other.
