What is the difference between F series engine and H23??

Wondering because my friend needs to swap and he had an H23 but got a F series...

The F22a is from the Prelude S....it's not so good...

with the F22 you're only looking at 135hp compared to 160hp from the H23

That's not true at all. There are several DOHC F-series motors

JDM F20B DOHC VTEC
JDM F22B DOHC non-vtec
JDM/USDM F20C DOHC VTEC (S2000)

yeah but honda has a certain method they use for their motors

F has 1 | = SOHC
H has 2 | | = DOHC
D has 1 hump = SOHC
B has 2 humps = DOHC
K = DOHC

F20B, F22B seem to follow that...F20c is just a completely different motor in general so i cant explain that one

there are the few exceptions but this is the average of what we are talking about...yes there are motors that are different but 9/10 times this will be right

Dude that's just ridiculous.

Add the DOHC F20A...thats 4 motors that disagree with this theory. Humps and lines? You've decoded Honda's secret engine coding technology!!
