I've got a FiberImages and it is

THere is a little bulging near the edges though. Probably due to bad alignment on my part

Do you have hood pins on your hood? And how much did the hood run you?

I got the hood second hand (from deceptakon), and he got it for around 450 shipped.

I don't have hood pins, but want to get them for piece of mind, and to help with the fitment.

Is the hood flopping up on you at high speeds? One thing from keeping getting a CF hood is the pins.

Yeah, it was scary on my cross country trip behind semi trucks, but I've gotten used to it and I have faith in my latch.

Well, the hood looks pretty good on the fiberimages website. Who else makes hoods for our cars?

VIS makes a good hood, I have seen some installed and it looks nice!! Mine isn't installed YET but from the looks of it it looked sweet, if you're asking when I am going to install it, after I am done with the swap and when it gets warmer...

I don't think you can go wrong w/ Kaminari's c/f hoods. BUT, they cost around 850 bucks ... top quality, though. When I'm just pissing out cash, I'll pick one up. Right now, I have a decent one from Summit Racing ... it, too, bulges a bit on the sides, and I HAVE hood pins.

Kaminari doesn't make a CF hood for the 4th gen though. And that is a little steep on the price. Any other makers out there?

Bodykits NW. uses Fiberimages hoods or at least the same mold or something. That pic of the Prelude that you posted used to be on the Fiberimages website. Oh, and the reason why comapnies like Kaminari and Spoon have higher priced carbon fiber hoods and such is becuase they use both hand laid fiber glass frame and backing as well as Vacuum sealing the hood in a Giant pressure chamber, or in a Vacuum bag, where as companies like Fiberimages, Sunny Styling (junk), VIS, etc they use a Chopped fibergalss frame and backing, and one sheet of carbon over the fiberglass backing. You ca certainly tell the difference in quality between the 2. Of all the cheaper quality hoods on the market I would say that Fiberimages (bodykits NW) are the best ones. Stay away from Sunny Styling, they are junk.

Dr. James,

I soon realized that the BodykitsNW hood was from fiber images. But, BKsNW makes deluxe(all carbon fiber) hoods as well. Obviously not for the Prelude, yet. I emailed them and asked them if they could make one up for the prelude. If you go to there site and look at their online catalog you can see that there is one available the for the civic. You'll notice the price difference as well. Is it worth paying when all is said and done though? I certainly don't like sh!t that doesn't fit properly and doesn't look good.

Siklude, thanks for the comment. Right now i'm leaning more toward the FI/BKNW hood.
