What changes were made from 1993 to 1994 in the prelude?
Anyone know all of the changes they did from the 1993 prelude to the 1994 prelude? A couple things that I noticed were:
- The indiglo dash
- The digital milage meter
- The rim style (I think)
- Those black vents in the front (changed # of prongs)
- Turning signals in the front
Anything else I am missing?
The reason I want to know this is because I kinda wanted to buy these parts so that it looks like I have a 94-96 model. I have the 1993 VTEC. Anyone know where I might go to get these parts?
By the way, did they change anything else up to the 1996 model?

What do you mean cushion in the back? If you are talking about that middle thing in the back seat (that square holder), I have a 93 and it is cushion. I have fold-out cupholders under my armrest but the cupholders are broken
Am I right about the digital mileage reader on the dash? Is there anything I am missing that changed on the dash?
yes you are right about the digi meter
the cupholder on the 96 is a flip up one, they moved the ebrake to the side...
and added little slots for coin holders, switches ... misc stuff
the mirror control is at the center console as well
There is a wealth of knowledge on this board, and a lot of it has already been dispensed (several times). Learn to use the search feature, and you can save yourself time and frustration.
Are the following changes possible to my 1993 VTEC to make it look more like a 1994-1996 model....?
- The entire dash (indiglo, needles, digital mileage meter, etc.)
- Front nostrils (those black things that have 2 prongs in the newer models)
- Turning signals in the front
- The center console including:
- flip-up cupholder
- e-brake (moved to side)
- square hazard button
- mirror controls
- coin holders
----------------------------------
- Speaker grills
- Led light on the spoiler
- Cushion style in the back
If you can answer this, i would really appreciate it.
yes they are all possible.
you need the door inserts to get rid of the useless mirror control if you re-wire them
or you can replace the mirror control on the console with something else

Really!? Sweet! I like that new center console. How is it that they moved the e-brake to the side? Wouldn't that be pretty hard? Also, how did they move the mirror controls to the middle console...wouldn't it leave a hole where my controls are now (on the door)? It's actually possible to put a digital mileage meter in place of my stock meter???

once again man, search, this has all been covered, there was a post about the digi gauges last week
and if you look in my post above it says you need the door inserts(from newer) to replace yours
from what i hear you can just weld/add an extension on the ebrake cable to make it fit; i will know in about a week, i got my console in a couple days ago, im going to post pics when i get it finished.
You could probably just sell your car and buy one that is a few months newer for less than the cost of all these parts. Lets just do some basic calculations:
Wheels/tires: $250-ish
New concole, switches, and associated hardware and labor: $150-200 (requires welding Ebrake to new location, and maybe new cables as well).
Electroluminiscent gauge swap: $150-ish
Nostrials, bumper lights, and a dome light: $50
New door panels or inserts: $50-100
I'd say you are looking at like $500-700 bucks to do all the stuff you want, and for what? Sure, you'll get a cupholder and some nifty looking gauges, but your car will still be a 93. There really isnt THAT much difference astheticaly between the two. Personally, I think I could find much better ways to improve the appearance/performance of my car with $500-$700. But, it is your money and your car.
if you want to go all out you should get a whole new frontbumper. 92-93s are alittle pointier than 94+ not noticeble unless you have them right next to eachother but its true.
