What are all the difference bewteen JDM and USDM lights?
I know that some japanese preludes have one piece black housing, and then there's amber corners on some of them. Then some have fogs? What are all the lighting differences between japanese preludes and then US ones?
Hey Broken Devil, you've been on ebay far far too long. All those auctions you see about JDM corner light this, and JDM black bumper lights that.... no man, I'm sorry, none of those are JDM in the least bit.
Headlights only came 1 piece in Japan. In 92-93 they were black housing, and 94-96 they were chrome housing. There were front bumper lights, in 92-93 they were all amber, and 94-96 they were clear on the outer 2 of the 4, and still amber on the inner, bigger 2.. but on all years, the outer 2 were not functional, had no bulbs or reflectors. There were no rear bumper lights in Japan at all. The taillights are exatly the same. And there were turn signals in the fenders (not side markers, turn signals, they only come on when signaling).
But when your headlights are on, are the signals on? If so, then that's a Canadian thing, because like I said, in the UK and Japan, they are not sidemarkers, only turn signals.

Yes, you keep saying that but, how do you know? Is that just how you wired yours and you want everyone to think your right? Because I've seen pictures of JDM preludes with the sidemarkers on so.... HOW do you know that's how they are?

Well all we get in little ole New Zealand are JDM Prelude's, every type every spec...
The fender lights are only turn signals, they are only one when indicating and then go off when not - and they blink with the rest not alternating. Thats all they do.
The parking lights (next to headlights) are just that, parking lights. Nothing Special.
The front turnsignals only operate when signalling. Or how I have mine wired, they act as driving lights - and still blink with the rest (not alternating) .
The front courners are either orange with no bulb, clear with no bulb or clear with bulb and only come on when signalling.. Ie signal left and the left courner lamp will light up and stay on. These arnt year dependant - some 91's (first of the 4th gens) come from factory with clear indicators and some with all amber. My 93 came from factory with all four clear and bulb in the outers. Some 95's come with all amber and some with all clear.

And Bill, are you sure you've seen an actual marker light in the middle of the fender (not the very front/bumper) that stays on, and blinks? Because the side light being on in the fender is considered a 'distraction' and is illegal.
Ah I see your point. I will keep on eye out and see what the lights do on Benz and Bmers. In any case, I dont think the cops will be to pissy because the lights are amber.
