went to the dyno today

this is embarrasing and it disgusts me
i put out 115whp on an h22a1

all the other h22's were putting out about 140's

my a/f ratio was 10:1 during the whole midrange and it went back up to the 11's in vtec

but what could be the problem? why is it running so rich?

the guy also said that it could be the o2 sensor in the header.

any info is appreciated
this is absolutely horrible.......
no wonder i'v been running 16.7 at the track.......><

also my mods are:

Aem CAI w/ K&N filter
Greddy Header
dual N1's

Maybe because you have duals on not such a high powered car? I don't know, I think I've read something like that before, but I dont think you would lose that much hp.

he wouldnt lose power from running dual mufflers unless the diameter is way to large.. you just wouldnt gain as much..

that IS embarrasing ! my h23 is also runnin rich, along with 170k miles, i have i/h/e (single) and i m puttin down 141 at the wheels with no tuning. I doubt dual exhaust would make you lose that much power ( we r talkin bout 60 horses lost here), so either you got a lemon engine, or, you got something major goin on. Altho i m shocked at the fact that the other h22s were in the 140s also. h22 instantly have about 25 more horses then h23, so it really doesnt make sense for you guys to be where i m at ! keep us posted on the problems and solutions you might find, i m really interested in this. I d like to find out what is causing such a drastic power loss.

good luck.

He did say that the other H22s were putting out ~140hp though.

Compression test?

BTW, Dual N1s...

oh the dyno #'s weren't corrected until later in the day
basically the #'s are mutiplied by 1.17 but that still leaves me short about 20hp.

the AFR was real messed up
how could i fix that? without a VAFC or something?

Duals could well be the problem, I doubt very much if you are getting enough back pressure through your exhaust system.

Think of it like this, get a hose and put it in a bucket of water, suck, water comes through easy - now increase the size of the hose - it might be easier it might be harder - you'll get to a point where you won't be able to suck any water through.

Ok now, add two hoses n try, I'd be sorting that zorst out first.

Can I have the spare one too

You really dont want backpressure... you want exhaust velocity.. and to big of a diameter will definitly not help...

i still dont think dual exhaust would cause you to lose hp..

what is your setup on your dual exhaust? i/e pipe diameter before and after the split, and where the pipes merge?

Yea people who run NO exhaust , ie no headers attached, typically run higher hp sometimes.

get it tuned with a vafc, if the compression test was good.

if ur a/f is all over the place, ur best bet is to tune it. 140 whp is pathetic.

I heard on RS that your car had a compression check done and the numbers were fuxored. These were guys planning to buy that very same car. Did you ever do your own compression check? Bent valves? Oh yeah this is Ryan I called about your clutch kit before but you didnt wanna lower down your price. Anyways, I heard you were stoked about the results sorry man.

And yes it was a mustang dyno. It was a dyno dynamics dynamometer.

no my compression was 200 across the board
honda did it
and i took it to another mechanic a year after
it was still 200 across the board
those guys lied and i know for sure the guy that sold it to me took real good care of it.

but yeah maybe ill do another compression test.

That's an insanely rich A/F ratio. Where did they put the sensor?
