well its not shock knock.

so iwas getting tires put on my 1992 si and the tire guy showed me something i have been relating to shock knock for the past couple of months, he grabed my rear drivers side tire at the 3 and 9 position and moved my tire back and forth about 1/4 inch in both directions like toe in and toe out direction, while doing this it made the thunk thunk noise i had been telling myself was the kyb gr2s i had installed ,oh and he did this while the car was on the ground, does anyone know what is broken that would cause this? i am moving from indiana on monday to virgina and will be leaving the car here with my mom to take somewhere to get looked at i just dont want some a@#hole at the shop to tell her the blinker fluid also needs to be replaced for 500 dollars next thing i know im sending 1000dollars for a 200dollar job because yes my mom would buy blinker fluid. any thoughts or help would be great thanks guys.

Probably the rear toe adjustment rod. Although, if it makes a 'whirring' or grinding noise while rolling, it's probably a bad wheel bearing.

Jack up that corner and see if you can move it with your hands at 12 and 6 o'clock (see if you can change the camber by pushing/pulling). If it can do that as well, you've got a bad wheel bearing. If it's solid, then it's most likely that rear toe adjustment rod.
