Well guys I think I am finally going to say goodbye (but for what?)
To the lude. I took my lude to a dealership and well fell in love with the RX-8. I will be going down there to do the paperwork later this week, and if the numbers look good, Luda is gone. I can't believe I am going to trade the lude. Just thought I would share this emotional moment.

From what I know the car isn't being recalled, its just that the actual HP numbers listed vs. being tested doesn't match. The RX-8 is making 238HP and not the 247HP listed. In light of this problem, Mazda is offering an extended warrenty for those who already purchased the car, or you can return the vehicle for sticker price. I think the article is here:
hey man i understand. i sat in one and got a boner. but i know that they are planning 2 things. (mazda = they) one is that they will be coming out w/ a TURBO rx-8 :-D. the other that they are getting close on is an rx-7 w/ the renisis motor in it w/ the TWIN/SINGLE turbo. i'd hold of and enjoy your lude. have some fun in your lude this winter and in the spring / summer something should surface.

how much were they going to give you on the trade??
I would say keep it also, but I think you were having some issues with a sensor... is that ok now? If everything is running good I would keep the lude.
i would trade it in any day for a rx8. **** yes, i would.
i'm with you, sik.

i hope so for it being a new car at the price it is. for the price of a rx8 i think there are a lot of cars i would personally put ahead of it but if the rx8 does it for you, i say go for it.
For the price of an RX-8, it's all about the EVO!!!!....or a used 91-94 NSX........or a WRX sti............or a R32 Skyline from motorex..........or a 350Z..........or a S2000( it will still run in 5 years)............or a used M3............or a Audi TT.................or a come on man not a RX-8.

I'm keeping the Lude forever, but I think my next car is probably either a '98 Cadillac Eldorado ETC (Northstar baby!!), or a '03 Chevy Silverado 2500HD w/ the 502 ramjet in it! ROOOAAAR BABY!! But yeah, I'm never gonna actually GET RID of the lude, it's gonna be a lifelong possession and treasure.

I said the same thing. But there is nothing I haven't done to this lude. I have had boost, hybrid, built I mean everything. The RX-8 may not be the fastest but I am not really looking for that this time. You have to drive this car, and the looks OMG I love it. I have had a high 11 sec car and it was fun this RX-8 is going to be left completely stock, I am done working on my cars. Only doig other people's cars now on. I won't leave PO though, I love you guys.
If you must have a new car and cannot keep your lude, you should at least sell it privately instead of trading it to the dealer. As we all know, dealer trade-in price is much lower than the actual price that the car is worth.
