My car just started doing this Monday June 1st and has started to get worse. Please Help! Sounds like a squealing noise while I'm turning and i can only hear it while my A/C is on. What is causing this and how do i fix it? Thank you for your time.
Does it feel like your car is going to stall out with the a/c on? (*Don't forget that when you turn on a/c there is power drain and that is normal.) If it feels like the car is REALLY about to stall out it might be your a/c clutch locking up or internal failure of the a/c compressor. Heck it might just be your a/c belt. May need to be tightened, water or some type of fluid might be on the belt ribs, or might be an old, glazed belt.
no it is not a stalling feeling it is just a irritating sound while im turning that i want to try to fix before i take it to a shop.(try to save some cash) ill check those things out in the morning. to late at the moment it is after midnight here.
Your belt is prolly too tight or too loose, or just worn out. When you turn your wheel it drains power from the power steering pump and will slightly change the tension on the belt causing it to squeal only when turning with a/c on.
i still dont know what it is but i was thinking about installing aem tru-power pulleys. would that be a bad idea? it doesn't sound bad because then i could adjust the belts and see if that is the cause of the problem. lmk thanks.
