weird rpm problem

hey guys, i think i posted on this before but i didnt get any responses but i am trying to figure out what is wrong. ok here goes...
my car normal goes 70 at like 3200rpm, and 80 at like 3800-4000. however, sometimes, i believe only when its hot, it drives at 3800rpm at 70. i am not sure if it is my tach that is off, but it sounds to me that my tach is being accurate because my exhaust note sounds different. it actualy sounds like it is revving that high. well... there it is... if someone could help me figure that out i would really appreciate it. let me know if you all have any other questions. o... its a 93 vtec with like 147k miles. but i dont think miles would make it do that.... ok, well thanks,
nate

is that what that is? because i think my clutch is going bad. i am looking to buy a new one. its been harder to get in to gear plus it drives real weird. like i launched it from 4500rpm and it just bogged, and then every gear after that grinded a bit. so that is clutch?
