Weird problem after changing clutch!

So I changed my clutch today. Put the new one in plugged everything it. It went well until I started it and than turned it off. It started right up but when I turned it off and than tried to start it again it didn't start. Also A big puff of smoke came out right next to the starter area from what I could see. If you have any idea what that was please help.

Also My power steering fluid was drained and now I have no help turning my wheel. How do I fix that! Thank you

You could add power steering fluid.

Did you look around near the starter and see if anything looks burned up?

Sometimes the solution is so simple.

I hope you didn't run the car for long without any power steering fluid

The power steering fluid was full to the top. And yes I checked next to the starter it looked fine to me. It is new. I turned the wheel lock to lock and it never got any easier.

Maybe there is air in the system? does your power steering make funny noises?
Try turning the wheel all the way to the left and hold it then vice versa.
