Weight of 4WS controller

I was wondering if anyone knew how much a 4ws controler (just the computer/contoler) weighs.

Reason I ask, is because I have to relocate it to allow for a rear strut bar. I wanna know if it is of significant weight such that I should relocate it to my spare tire well (stripped trunk), so it is centrally mounted and lowest point of the trunk (better center of gravity). Does it weigh enough to be worthwhile, or is it a complete waste of energy - keeping in mind the 'ever pound here and there helps' philosophy.

I can't imagine it weighs too much, but it does get hot during 'spirited' driving so keeping a good air flow around it's heatsink might be a good idea.
If you mounted it in the spare tire well, a small computer (12v) fan might do the trick. I wonder how long the wires leading from the regulator are?

I had the same problem when I installed a rear strut brace. The ECU thingy is actually bigger and heavier than you would think. It's a relatively simple job to unbolt it, although there are lots of nuts to undo.
I fitted a 'false floor' to the trunk, made from MDF, and mounted the computer to that. The wiring is quite short, and you just need to make sure that you earth it properly to the car chasis, once you've relocated it.

What do you mean, I am looking to install a rear strut bar. I think non-ST sway bars fit fine...

His secret was tat he did not relocate his 4ws controler.

The problem lies with the bracket on the brace. On Bradys strut brace, the bracket sits toward the rear of the trunk, therefore the actual brace sits in front of the computer. On my strut brace, the bracket sits the other way round (nearer the rear seat), which means the computer is in the way of the brace.
I haven't got pictures yet, as I'm building a little ice install. I'll take pics of it if you like, but it does look a little messy at the moment!!
