Water under the passanger Seat.. WTF!?

Well as some of you might know the east coast is getting slammed with more rain then there has been since the days of Noah...

ANyway it rained for the past three days HARD pretty much 24-7. I haven;t driven my car all weekend, well actually I haven;t driven it since thursday... Wel I get into the car today, and it smells like wet dog.. gross.. oh well whatever... SO I am reaching under the passanger seat looking for my CD lists for my Kenwood Keg and I come up with a DRENCHED piece of paper.. What the hell.. SO I get home and take a real good look at the passanger side carpet and it is DRENCHED.. I mean like 3 paper towel rolls of Brawny drenched.. and it still has water seaped into the carpet.. The thing is, there is NO water ANYWHERE else.. Like If I had left my window or sunroof opened by accident,. there would be some moisture on the seat or somewhere right!?!?

ALso I felt along the Passanger door kick panel. and it;s complelty dry.. Where the Speaker sits and all along the door trim there the carpet is dry.. its only under under the passanger seat, as well as where a rear passanger would place his feet, that;s wet. !? Could this be caused by a Clogged Drain tube in the sunroof?? There is no wetness on the drivers side of the car at all.. ALso no wetness along the headliner or anything like that.

TO add I recently dynomatted my entire car and did a pretty good job of blanketing the entire car.. I DOn;t think there were any drain holes that I covered along the way.. At least not under the passanger side door.. What could cause this?????

ha, i would say heater core but its been raining so its more likely to be a leak. I have no clue where.

Your seats are bolted into the floorboard, check that all your bolts are in place. As far heater core, wouldnt that drench the whole passenger-side carpet ... not just under the seat?

Also, do you garage the car? or what? Could it of been submerged at any time?

I have the exact same problem!

SOLUTION:

Your rear window seals are worn! It is only prevalent after some heavy rain, you might want to check the spare tire cavity as well for any clues as to where the leakage is from. Bottom line is - get the entire rear window seal replaced asap!

Some people's problems are worse than others, I've seen entire passenger seats become full and over flow into the front footwell, not good!

Do you 4g guys have your ecu in the same spot as us 5g? Under the passenger side floorboard?

Which makes zero sense. i would trust _myself_ to not spill something on the ecu. i would definately not trust my passenger to not.

The ECU's located underneath the passenger site foot well, underneath the carpet and a 'cage'... It's located on the upwards slant so there's probably a very small chance water would get to it.

He said he hadn't driven the car for several days. I find it highly unlikely that water got in through a seat bolt hole without the car in motion . Plus, I don't think the seat bolt holes go all the way through the floor pan. Just trying to eliminate some possibile causes.

My rear seats get damp alot, so I'm looking for a solution also. Heres is some info I've got:

Car semi flooded...now what?

Whenever it rains, the carpet gets wet....wtf???

BACK SEAT LEAK!!! anyone find real cause???

Water in Rear Passenger Side Seat
