How do you shift your automatic hard enough to get water into the tranny?

I think he means that the shifts were hard (as in not smooth)

water could have leaked in there somehow (how else?)

if it has been raining a lot where you live, that may be why. flush it asap

I'm just curious as to where water would make its way inside the transmission besides that small breather tube.

I was under the impression the tranny itself was somewhat sealed right?

That happened on my F22 Tranny when I was scrubbing and washing the tranny. It wouldn't shift into any gears after the first 5-10 mins of driving. lol I flushed and refill and problem solved.
