Its been raining a lot - other day i noticed that my rear passenger seat was just completely soaked....pulled the seat out and drained the water but where is the water coming from?
FOr awhile i've noticed that the trunk will get wet as well..this is also on the passenger side.... it would seem to come from near the passengerside speaker corner....
I talked with Alexlude and he said his friend had a simlar problem and it endedup being his rear window seal.
Anyone have any ideas.. suggestions... experience with this?
Thanksl

well.......i would check the rear window seal all around, could be a pita but it would be a start
i can't think of any other place unless (and i don't know if its true) but could be leaking from sunroof area and seeping down to the backseat, just a thought though

I have the exact same problem too. I noticed that where the spare jack is, there was some rust damange around it. I ended using some silicone that I had to seal whatever openings I could see from the rubber seal that lines the edge of the trunk and around the spare jack area. I still get water leaking in the trunk, but I haven't really had my seats soaking wet anymore. You should keep the plug under the seats open so that if there is water that gets in there, it'll have a place to go.
I was sound deadening my trunk tonight when I noticed some water in the same spot in the trunk ( behind the jack ). I noticed that the water was coming from what I assume is the rear drain line from the sunroof. It was wet on the outside of the hose so I assume I have a bad seal or line somewhere. Might want to run some water over your roof or rear window to see where it is coming in.
i just got the same problem however i think mildew or mold started showing on the seats. should i replace the seats or is there some sort of chemical besides bleach to make this unhazardous?
anyone know the true solution to this water problem?

I have the same problem. I took all my trunk lining out and didnt see any hoses that i thought were supposed to be there. I started to try to take out the plastic side panel, i unscrewed 2 screws and got one clip popped out but i couldnt get it off. I didnt want to force it and break everything. I looked in the manual and apparently theres a bunch of clips on that side panel.
As for the mold, mine was starting to get slightly moldy but i just took out the back seat and wiped it off with a wet rag and let the whole seat dry in the sun (it was hot that day, now its cold again).

I assure you the side panel comes out....
My rear window seal leaked so much it was like I was swimming in the drivers seat...
Like i stated above, I got this shop to completely remove my rear window and redo it, then I went back a few weeks later when it was still leaking. They put a little more urethane where it was leaking saying that should do it. Needless to say, it still leaks. I leave the drain plug out under the 2 rear seats as well as at the bottom of the trunk. It keeps the water from pooling up

Check the sunroof drain-tubes because they run inside under the headliner on either side of the rear window and if they leak will soak the whole rear.
Not sure if this applies to 4th gen drain-tubes, but when I looked in the trunk of my 5th gen, after taking off the plastic panels, I noticed that one of the drain-tubes was holding water. I looked at the exit of the drain-tube, from outside the car under the quarter panel, and noticed that the drain-tube exit was clogged. It's a really small hole. I squeezed it and cleared up the clog. Seems like it would be possible for your drain tubes to be clogged and fill up with water, maybe spilling over somewhere near the sunroof where the drain-tubes start.

I didnt see any drain tubes in my trunk. I took all the linings out.
I know the side panel comes out, but did you just rip it out? I didnt want to break stuff.
When you say side panel, do you mean the panel in the interior next to the rear seats? If so, then no I didn't.
Sorry, when I said plastic panels, I was referring to the trunk lining.
However, you have to have drain tubes somewhere. If you can find them, check that they aren't clogged. Maybe you can go on one of the honda parts web sites that shows exploded views of all the major car areas, like this one:
