washed engine bay, now I have miss

I got water in my spark plug holes, wires are moist. I dried them off with a towel and the car seemed to run a little better. Should I go to the gas station and blow out the holes? How do I get these completely dry? Collin.

let it run at idle for a bit to dry it out.

did you cover the distributor and fuse boxes?

if you have a cel, reset the ecu.

actually, try resetting the ecu anyway.

Yeah, It is definitely electrical, pull your wires (one at a time so they dont get mixed up) and check for corrossion, or anything out of the norm. You may also want to pull the distributor cap and look at the condition of the connections.

actually, reading your post over. i had this problem on my old accord hybrid.

had water in plugs. you might need a wet vac with a tube if you have tons of water in there.

but you should be fine afterwards.

If you have access to compressed air, blow it into the plug wire boots (the ends that connect to the spark plug) and blow air down into the spark plug wells. Make sure you put goggles on to shield your eyes. You could also just leave the plug wires disconnected overnight so they dry out (let them droop down so they will drain) and use rolled up paper towels or shop towels to dry the spark plug wells. Either way should do the trick.

Probably got some water in the distributor too, just take the cap off overnight and let it dry.

BTW I NEVER use pressure washers for the engine bay. Get a bucket of water with some dish soap or 'Simple Green' degreaser and a sponge and wipe everything off under the hood. After you have finished that, just use a light mist of water from the hose to rinse and a couple of shop towels to dry it all up.

If you have some crazy build up on the block that you want to get off I would use one of the big name engine degreasers but I've never let it get that bad so I can't recommend a good one.
