Warm-up idle issues/ fine when warm

Hey guys, been reading through the idle threads, I seem to be the only one having idle issues on the warmup.

Just replaced the head, couldn't tell you if the car had this idle issue before because I never talked to the girl I bought the car off and got the car with the timing belt broke, valves bent. Car has 326km, h23, runs flawless.

Anyway, good head installed, new t-belt, all new Honda gaskets, valves set, fresh plugs, good cap/rotor, all that stuff. All vacuum lines are on, everything is tight there.

It is freezing around here, like -10 celcius minimum for the last few weeks, getting up to -20. Car starts awesome, cold idles up to 2000rpm and holds for about 2 minutes. Start driving, temp guage has not come up yet. Come to a stop light, idle goes from 2000, down to 1500, 2000, 1500, on an exact consistency. As the 1st part of the temp guage fills in, it then goes from 1800 to 1600, just a minor difference for about another 30 seconds, then it's gone and back to normal 1000 rpm and will idle perfect forever.

Help?

stop spamming omg... you'll get more respect AND help if you delete all your other threads and just leave one up. Mods will wind up locking/deleting your other threads anyway... do it before the rest of the world sees lol.

Hoenstly I had no idea it posted that many times or why it did it, my computer is pile o' crap to say the least and I have been around online forums long enough to know posting multiple times only makes it less likely to get some help. I didn't see it until i got a private message, my apologies.

Ah it happens. Where do you live? I notice you use metric system.

Anywho, your culprit is most likely either the fitv (fast idle thermo valve) or iacv (idle air control valve). The fitv is there to raise your cars idle when the car is cold so it doesn't run speratically since the coolant hasn't warmed up. When the car warms up your iacv controls your idle at operating temperature. Both are ususally the culprit for idle fluxes if it's not a vac leak. The fitv is right below your throttle body with coolant lines running through it and the iacv is in the front of your intake manifold.

Do the "finger suction test" on the fitv. You'll need to take off your air intake for this to get access to your throttle body. Clean your iacv screen out, there could be carb build up on it. There are threads that cover both of these devices and how to trouble shoot them.
