I did a little research, and it looks like the "S" model was the only one that didn't come with the small dash speakers. I popped the panels off and saw a bunch of open space with some wrapped-up wiring. Is there supposed to be some type of bracket or speaker housing? I couldn't figure out a way to mount a small speaker to what I saw. Also, what size are the dash speakers? I'm guessing about 3" but I haven't seen anything definitive.
Any pictures would be greatly appreciated, and if some sort of housing is needed, does anyone have any extras lying around?
offtopic....
im wondering if next to the tweeters you can put another set of tweeters or small speakers... because of the 4 screw holes it have there... but it dont have the holes to allow the sound to go out...

The screws are there to mount the fog lights switch. Not for another speaker. If you really wanted to do it you can. You just need to do some cutting.

at first i thought you were talking about the JDM Gathers center dash speaker(s). i tried looking for a factory harness for that thing and never could find one so i just ran speaker wire to by door speakers. seems to work ok i just dont know what kind of signals its getting coming from the doors.
I'm wanting to replace the door speakers. I 've already replaced my rear window speakers, but the front door ones i';m not too sure about. I'm afriad of breaking the grilles when trying to take them off. the top end seems to come out with a but of pulling (it's clipped in) but the bottom side seems to stuck right in...i dont see any clips
any ideas on how they are meant to come off? Thanks. Same with the dash grilles.

Dash grills just pull off. Have to remove the entire door panel to get the door speaker outs.

To replace the door speakers, you have to remove the door panels. Remove the door handle / power windows console first, then the small handle in the middle of the door, then finally the screws on the perimeter of the door panel. Once all of these are off the door is just held on by small plugs that pop out with a bit of tugging on the panel. The entire process takes about 5-10 minutes. Once the door panel is off you have free access to the speaker.

Sweet, I 'll try that. Thanks for the info, will get back to ya'll when it's done.
after doing the pop out things (pull the door panel from the bottom to the sides)... then push the panel a bit up and backwards the car
after that look for round gray things in the door or for that gray things missing in the panel... if some are in the door remove them and place them back in the panel
