want an aftermarket shift knob and boot, dont know what to get in terms of boot---

Guys I wanna get an aftermarket shift knob. I'm considering the voodoo knob or the skunk 2 one.

The problem is thE OEM shifter is the square one with the square clip aroudn the oem knob.

i dont mind buying a new boot but I want one that will stay up with the knob and not fall down.

I've heard about some kinda rubber band trick but I dont know what that is...

Any suggestions?

This will be added to the JTC short shifter btw.

Pretty sure the ITR one fits and will have just a ring collar that matches the diameter of the shift lever. I went from aftermarket to stock though cause aftermarket ones come loose. =/

Someone on Preludepower.com came up with this idea. Havent tried it myself but it looks like it works perfectly. Did a quick drawing of it in paint.

The only thing I didnt draw out is the locking mechanism for whatever shift knob you get but the idea of the spring is to allow you to push the shift boot down to access that and then push the boot back up to hide it.

This in turn allows you to use whatever boot you want you just need to find a ring to attach it to which really could be anything you wanted as long as the hole on the inside was big enough to hide the locking mechanism for the knob but small enough a spring could push up on it
