Oh no.. I hope it didn't throw the timing out-- The Distributor is driven off of the exhaust camshaft and it will lock the camshaft up and stop it from turning when the distributor siezes, which will kick the living sh*t out of the cam belt , and then pound the exhaust valves into the pistons. I would take the valve cover off and check the timing belt and also make sure all the valves are opening and closing properly. There could be (probably is - sorry) heavy-duty damage done.

I had a bad bearing in my distributor, and I didn't take any chances, I just replaced the distributor . You can't buy the bearing from Honda, but a machine shop should be able to replace the bearing for you by pulling off the rotor on the top of the shaft and pulling the bearing, and pressing on a new one. I've heard of people having success with this for around 50$ total.

You make sure you installed the distributor the right way? You might have it 180 degrees off... because the distributor can fit the right way or 180 degree off...

might want to check that...

Actually, You *can't* put the dizzy 180 degrees out, because the shaft is indexed and will only go in one way. The tab that drives it is off-center.

the same sorta thing happened to me i had to go to replace my distributor three times before i could get my car to start...seems like a lot of people sell ****ty,not properly rebuilt distributors! As far as i know they only sell rebuilt distributors for the 4th gen..The best thing to do would be to find a buddy with the same car that's running good and switch it up...if your car runs, you know it's the distributor!

Haha
I was gonna say the same thing, maybe he did the rare conversion to VTECH The hyphen is even worse cause V-TEC makes phones, if you got one of those floating around in your engine then you're really up **** creek.

you all probably wont believe me anyways now that i'm bringin it up but the "jk" was for the "h" AND also because i posted the thread as "vtech issues" when it actually was for the distributor. it just seems like i get more people looking at my posts when it deals with vtec rather than a distributor. also, i figured more people would look at the post just because they would want to rag on the person for spelling it wrong....i posted the same question in another forum but headed it as "distributor prob" and didnt get one response. now look. at least someone tried to help me out.....

Know what you mean bro, I get p$ssed off @ the little racers in here who can't post anything useful and have to say you spelt vtec like vtech or v-tec. Wawawawawawa

Grow up some of you, if you can't say anything useful or nice DON'T BOTHER you just ruin the forum for everyone else!

Sorry to all the other guys/girls in here that are sound, there are just a few that are idiots!

Maybe there should be a post for 'spelling mistakes' or 'please complete my sentences properly' at least we'd keep the muppets happy!
