VTEC swap into an S

Have any of you dropped a VTEC into your S Prelude?

If so, what kind of problems did you encounter?

I'm a bit concerned about wiring issues. It'll be a JDM engine which will come with engine harness and ECU. Just not 100% sure if the JDM ECU will work or not with a USDM harness, since I can't use the JDM harness.

Thanks for any input.

I have and there are alot of others that went from S to Vtec. I ended up buying a longblock which didn't have a wiring harness so I bought a USDM one and it worked fine. The guy doing the install wired it for the internal ignition coil. NEways Other than that the swap was a breeze. The JDM ecu works and I think it is recommended due to different fuel maps. speed governor sux but shouldn't go that fast neway. i have had mine almost two years now and the engine is still pulling as strong as ever. good luck and take some time searching here you find everything you need. BTW your breaks will have a hard time keeping up w the h22 get vtec brakes, best money I spent yet Peace

Matt

i have done several swaps (b series) and the h22 into the S was about the easiest swap i have ever done.. the wiring was cake all the mounts were the same and you can even keep the f22 tranny if you wanted but as far as the jdm ecu i dont what the difference would be on the ecu but i know the majority that swap the motor use a jdm .... mine was usdm i got a ton of parts if you happen to need anything also
