VTEC rotors

Is it possible to upgrade just the rotors on my Si to VTEC sized rotors and keep the same calipers?

any benefits to this?

No.

You need the bigger calipers as well.

Benefit would be better braking because of the bigger rotor.

I've been thinking about that upgrade also, any one got any idea where I can get the V-Tec calipers. My rotors are so warpped they shake the crap out of my car when i brake. So getting Power slots are no prob, but the calipers are hard to find. Can anyone help.

get acura ledgend GS calipers from '95-'96. They fit, and are actually bigger then the NSX calipers.... and A LOT CHEAPER (little known fact!)

From the posts above, I understand that vtec rotors and Gs calipers from 95-96 legend. What about the brake lines? Should it be prelude or legend.

brake lines really don't matter they must mount up to the caliper.

Yes, but are the legend calipers 2 piston? I doubt it, that is what makes the NSX calipers better.

Would the Legend caliper be cheaper than the VTEC ones? If they're better than the VTEC that's still a good buy if you can't afford NSX calipers

well if they're the same size as the NSX and you can use the VTEC rotor with the NSX caliper wouldn't that be the same thing with those?

Or you could just by my NSX calipers: $325+shipping. their from a 1992 with 40-45k miles. Also they already have SS lines. If your interested email me at jordan_mendler@yahoo.com for more info/pictures.

So the GS calipers will mount the same right? But the rotor are bigger than Vtec's? How many lugs on the legend 4 or 5? If its 4 couldnt you just get some slotted rotor that are for the legend? So where would be a good place to get the calipers at? Junk yard? I think I would pefer the Vtec's so if anyone knows where I can get some at please let me know, Thanx.

You could try to luck out at a junkyard, but I'd just go for some new Brembo or Powerslot rotors in the VTEC size, like I did. I costs a bit of dough (about 200 bucks for the fronts), but it's well worth it. I bought some Powerslots, and some used, rebuilt VTEC calipers & Hawk HP+ pads, and that combo ROCKS.

You could also get VTEC calipers from Auto Zone or somebody like Advance Auto parts for about 40.00 with a 45.00 core. I am about to do the swap and ordered them. Powerslots should be here thurs from NOPI at about 300.00 for all four.

Will the VTEC rotors swap with the Si? I called NAPA to price and they said 450 for rotors calipers and pads. Don't know that I wan't to go that way. What do you think of UNITED pads?

The VTEC rotors will swap over to an Si, but you MUST buy the VTEC sized calipers. It is a fairly simple swap, as I found out

Does the calipers swap without any problems? I am looking at steel breaklines too.
