Vtec question

The other day I was at a light about to get on the highway....so on green I take frist to redline..shift to 2nd...and as Im going throught the powerband in second at about 6800rpms but engine just like choked or something...like my foot was on the gas but the rpms didnt go anywere...it was kind of like the engine died but it didnt die because I shifted into 3rd and the car was fine again....went through third and into 4th fine...its happened one or two times before this and always in second gear at the same rpm mark....anyone ever experiance this? any help would be appreciated

no not a bad tranny...
Some one told me that if the engine isnt warmed up enough that the engine will cut fuel. which this is possible because the car had not been on that long.

What! You should NEVER go anywhere near redline when your car isn't fully warmed up! Sheesh!

Either the engine was cold or you are really low on oil. I'd guess you're low on oil.

turns out I was low on oil....it seems my car is burning oil

You're just a little low on oil, happens to me all the time when i run it a little bit low. The engine will cut fuel intermittently.

or how about the fact since VTEC runs off of oil pressure, if he was low enough, there wasn't sufficient pressure to trigger/activate VTEC, a nifty failsafe hmm? Also, please don't push your car before it's warmed up, it pains me to read such things.
