VTEC OEM Alarm

Did all the 94-96 Prelude VTEC's come with the OEM alarm?

It was underneath my driver's seat and apparently has a siren function I never tried, but I'm upgrading so I'm wondering if it was standard or if people would be looking for this.

I'm assuming you need the wiring or something...

Let me see how portable it is...do you have the plug for it under your seat? Do you have the red blinky light behind your steering wheel?

Not sure about the wiring, I'll look today sometime. No led on the steering wheel but I can install one of those easy.

Pretty sure that the alarm was a dealer installed option, like fog lights.

My 1993 VTEC I think had an OEM alarm in it. I bought the car about 2 months ago. There is a red LED behind the steering wheel and I also have a Keyless entry keychain thingy. I set the alarm off but all it is is that the horn honks and the lights blink. There is also this thing on the back of my window on the inside....I think its some kind of glass break sensor. I followed the wire and noticed that it wasn't hooked up. Anyone know what it might have gone to? Maybe the previous owner or the one before him took it out...I dunno.

I have the OEM alarm too. I have that same control box thing under my seat. I haven't really looked at it though. I also have a stock remote for it with keyless entry. I wish I had my Clifford G4 Intelliguard 7000 in it....i "could" salvage it off my wrecked '95 sometime theoretically......

You can turn off the horn function on the alarm. Also, on the remote, you can choose to alarm it silent or with the horn. I normally arm and disarm silent unless I lose my car in a parking lot.

My 1996 Si 'lude came with 14 miles on it but no OEM alarm. I opted not to get the alarm and went with an Clifford IQ800 series alarm. Very satisfied with my alarm with zone sensory alarm chirp and custom alarm sounds. THe oem like the fogs was a dealer installed option (not standard on any model)

Dunno, what are you trying to do with your alarm exactly.

here, maybe these will help. Here are the installations instructions for the alarm, maybe you can buy some of the parts seperately:

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/.../16805_01.html

and here are some instructions for installing the optional siren kit and hood trigger switch:

Sweet! Is the stock OEM with siren better than say a clifford system?

Also, check this out...its a pic of the newer keyless entry remote for the 1996 prelude:
