To VTEC or not to VTEC

I have a 94 Prelude S (SOHC... ) any way.. I'm buying a new engine. I have a friend who want to sell me his si engine for 1500 bucks. the engine is in perfect shape! I dont think I have the cash for vtec well atleast not right now..

I want to turbo the engine as well with in like 3 months after the install.. whats the better engine to turbo? If i get the SI engine I can get the turbo faster.

What to do, what to do, what to do.....

The preludes got a SOHC?!?!
If so, Guess I learned something new today. Hmmmmm.....
Anyways, from what I understand, It's way to much of a pain in the ass to turbo a 2.2L properly(with HIGH boost) and the gains are not really worth it...Millions of other things you can do to make up for not getting the 20 or 30 horse from the VTEC......So I understand.

Not sure about that, Ive seen some kick ass turbo'd cars at the track and shows, with no major complaints, just the tuning of it when it goes into VTEC range. I'm sure the turbo works better with a Honda engine then it does other types. Built(sorta) and tested for and on specific honda engines.........
