VTEC calipers wider?

I want to do the VTEC rotor and caliper swap on my Si but I am afraid that the calipers will be wider and hit my wheels. Right now there is about a 1/8" gap in between the wheel and the caliper. If I do the upgrade is it going to hit my wheels?
Andy

Have no fears, bro. I've done this swap, and there are no fitment problems, nor clearance problems. I only had to bend back the dust shields on the front wheels, a bit.

I'm not riding on stock wheels and I have noticed there is more of a gap on the stockers. I have the SHU 4's. Think it will still be ok?

You'll be OK! The Vtec calipers fit under stock 15's so anything more than 15" will be just fine!

Well I just started looking and the only place that I would buy parts from in town is AUTOZONE: This is the price from the sheet they printed out for me

Brake Front Rotor: 79.99
Brake Rotor Rear: 64.99

Z-Brake Caliper front: 52.00 core + 40.99 I don't have core!

Z-Brake Caliper Rear: 55.00 core + 70.99 I don't have core!

All prices are for one part. So times by two to get on wheel.

Making grand total with tax: $774.51 Just for parts. No pads no fluid

I think I am going somewhere else! The lady told me, even though I didn't even ask, That the Z-Brake calipers were due to the my Variable Timing Engine! I said well I don't have that and she said, "Then these parts won't work!" I said OK, I will talk to you later!

hmm... can u just turn in ur stock calipers to get the core back? i mean.. if they dont notice that ur calipers are smaller

I would do that too, don't worry about having different calipers, just return the old ones and get your core back!.. They won't notice!

-I ended up paying around $250 US for my Legend Calipers (used) and Brembo oem style rotors (new) and Axxis MM pads (new of course).

I have all the parts to do the swap you are talking about except one. The caliper cariers (sp) are bigger to go with the bigger disc. Good luck finding one. I found a pair in Cali but I would not trust the person selling them. Found them on e-bay, 110 for the whole front end assembly from a VTEC. 100 shipping. Get the carriers (sp) first....

Good luck

Tom

They will be tight but it will fit... I've seen the Shu 4 on a 4th gen. Boy are they close.. 5mm clearance or so..

That's what I'm afraid of. I know they make wheel spacers and that is also an option if it is too tight! If there is such a thing.
