Vtec Calipers and Rotors on Si

If I go to the local auto parts store and buy front calipers, rotors and pads for a 1993 Vtec prelude are they a direct bolt on for my 1992 Si? And, is that all I need?

Yeah, they will bolt right on. I did that with my Si just cause I could. Remember that the core return might be iffy though as you will be returning the Si calipers.

as long as they don't carefully examine the calipers you'll be fine

HI HO I just recently did the upgrade from the s rotors to the vtec and it is sooooo simple. I cold not believe the difference in the two. I went with the brembo blanks and AEM pads and goodridge stainless steel lines all around and it feels great. But yeah man they bolt right in. I had to bend the metal thing thats behind the rotor back a little to allow the bigger rotor to fit in there but other than that its simple. Its soo worth it. BTW hows the strut bar treaten ya.

Strut bar is great, thanks. Couldn't believe how much difference it made on cornering feel.

I'm not real happy with the braking on my Prelude. The rotor are warped, they were new a year ago, but even new the brakes are not near as good as the brakes on my Accord. Since I am going to be replacing the rotors I thought I might go ahead and do the Vtec upgrade.

Ya think I need to go with name brand stuff or will I be satisfied with what the local Advance Auto sells?

When I need to do them agian (pads) I will proly get some crapers just to see if I can feel a difference. I think the ss lines are helping out a bit for me. However the vtec upgrade will definitly be a marked improvement trust me. you are only going one size bigger I went two and it made such a difference. I say do it if the price is good. I found a pair of calipers on PO for about 100 shipped.

Between my Powerslot slotted rotors and my ACT clutch, I can stop in a heartbeat. I cant imagine how well I could stop if i did a Vtec brake upgrade. Damm, more things to eventually spend my money on
