75k here and it still hauls ass....although i need a new radiator...a rock hit it and it started to bleed a little bit....
a buddy of mine has 164k on his 93 vtec...and this other dude i know has 230k miles on his 92 Si...he say the motor hasn't been serviced yet...i was like..shiet...so save your motor and boost it...don't swap..

VTEC engines use oil pressure to change cams, and end up burning oil when using VTEC...so depending on how much you run into VTEC, you can burn a fair bit of oil from your car. By 3000 kms, (umm about 2000 miles) you may have burned off a litre/quart of oil, so your dipstick would most likely read empty! This is obviously very bad if you don't check your oil often and VTEC a lot. My buddy blew his entire h22a at an autocross because of oil starvation.
So it is wise to check your oil on VTEC engines at every fillup, and probably add oil before your oil change. Actually I have heard several honda mechanics say the same thing, and that you should just change your oil at 2000 miles/3000 kms instead of adding and getting it at the regular intervals. But than can get expensive, especially if you use synthetic oil!
H22A's just use oil. You will rarely find one that doesn't. Know one knows where it goes. I personally think the oil fairy visits us monthly and just forgets to leave money under my steering wheel.
I had 100,000 and I spun a bearing. Rebuilt it and only have 10-15k since. I've gone through rings a few times, valves, timing stuff etc. Then again, mine never was a normal H22...
EDIT: bad spelling sucks.

NO NO NO! You never want the oil level to read over the MAX level, nor do you want it to drop below the MIN level. The amount of oil between min and max is 1 litre/quart.
So If you are at or below min, you must add a fill litre/quart to be safe.
Also if anyone wants to know where all your oil goes, pull your intake off and run your finger inside, it will most likely be coated in oil...mine was when I installed my CAI
Mine had 102,000 and she spun a bearing. JG Luder, after I replace the bearing, will my engine run fine like normal or does it have a higher risk of spinning out again? Should I take it careful for awhile? I don't know if you have to wear in bearings like a clutch or not, but it's going to be soooo hard to take her easy!!
Depending on how bad the crank is, you might need a new crank. You *could* have it machined, but it will have to be mic'd to see if it's still within clearances. Mine was too far gone, so I just had JG Engine Dynamics keep my motor for 6 months and take their time building it.
Theoretically though, with new bearings and a crank that's within spec, you'll be fine. It's supposedly just one of those things (like the 5th gear synchro) that preludes' have the tendency to do at 100,000 miles. They just get worn down and then slide out of place... little bastards.
One way to keep this from happening is change the oil regularly, and don't let the oil level get low!
Right now I have 110,000 on the car
10,000 on the Arias pistons, Saenz rods, JG crank etc.
6,000 on this set of Ferrea SS valves
3,000 on this set of rings.
70 on the cams.
My car is mismatched... it's like a patchwork quilt. It's one gigantic "trial and error" R&D project.
It gets frustrating, but you learn a lot.
