VteC

I have a question.
If its possible to put a Vtec Head on a H23. Is it also possible to put a Vtec head from a Accord F23 (sohc) on a prelude f22(sohc)? Im sure this is a totally unique question but i would like to know if its possible. Also on a SOHC vtec, is the vtec actually functional? Isnt the whole point of Vtec the dual cams?
ThanX

the h23head on an h22 has been discussed a lot of times, search for it. As for the accord the head wont bolt up to the block because they are different series motors, F and H, but in 94+ accords there is a model with vtec and maybe you could put that head on the f22, not really sure though... And, vtec is not dual cams, its more like 2 cams in one, basically at vtec crossover a little thing slides the cam down so then the cam profile is more agressive. Hard to put it into words, but really not that hard to understand if someone is a good explainer.

can it be done a VTEC head on a SI motor. That will be called a frankinstien swap, wouldn't it be? But my question is that a VTEC is 2.2 and the SI is 2.3 can it really be done and is there in any difference it you use a VTEC head on a SI? And will the VTEc actually function as well?

You probably COULD, but why? The F23 makes how much power. . .like 150 hp or so, right? You would probably spend a good deal of money to get something like that to work (reliably), and for only a marginal gain in power.

Yes, the 2.3 head and 2.2 block do mate up after some modifications. I believe that the bore is the same between the 2.3 and 2.2, but the 2.3 has a slightly longer stroke.
