Vis Racing GT Extreme Carbon fiber hood pics???? anyone got em on a 4th gen?
I was looking into the invader style but they are on a large backorder and i need this hood soon cause my insurance check is only good for 2 months. Should I get this hood with the assumption that a body kit will be coming this year or should i just get the OEM one?
eh...i really dont like the OEM one too much its too plain...i want something interesting...something that will make someone look twice but im not sure if i should get the extreme GT or not....any pics???? anyone?
EDIT:
Im really leaning toward the extreme GT just because of the fact that I've never seen it before on a Lude and te Invader style is pretty common but thats the whole problem...i dont know whatg its gonna look like and thats really what im lookin for is pics
What kind of body kit are you going to get? If you get a lip kit (such as WW RS or Kamanari) then you should get OEM style cause the invader style is way too aggressive.
But if you get an aggressive kit, the Invader style will suit it well.
Sorry i've never seen a Extreme GT before. But the prelude is not listed as a car to have the Extreme GT made.

oh it is...atleast thats what the Vis rep told cementups when he called to order my hood. i was planning on getting the WW widemouth kit...i think the smoother lines of the GT extreme hood would compliment the front bumper well
that wouldn't flow with the lude lines whatsoever....
I don't like it.

Ludeconduct for HP.com and I believe he's on this site now as well had a really nice CF hood that was aggressive but it was
the one that has a single "cowl", if that the term, instead of two
I thought it was called "extreme" I'll try to find a pic of one
LudeConduct (Or Charlie) has the Invader style hood

I think this, and wonder how much fun they have cleaning their engine bay after it rains/snows.

the one Ludeconduct has is the one i wanted but its on backorder
that makes me think i should go with the gt cause no one else has it....i kinda like it
the invader matches the nose lines beautifully which is why i have it. Wish i had a pic or a sig to show u but u saw ludeconducts it flows if thats u'r taste. but the extreme gt looks like should be on a civic not a lude!
W/ the right body kit, the GT looks good. Ronnie (Sik96Prelude) showed me a pic of one in ND that is burgundy, and has the GT hood I believe...PM him and ask for the pic.

i wish i could but i cant wait that long because insurance is paying for it...besides i want something unique....i didnt know so many ludes had the invader style
OHHHH harsh, its not that bad, but carbon fiber isn't my thing. Personally if you like it get it, both of those ludes with the invader hood dont look like would you ever try getting a flat carbon fiber hood and painting the sides of it like some of the 5th gens on the board?

I don't have any problems with my hood. I don't get snow here, but I do get rain, and it's never been a problem. water only gets in there when sitting still, and even then, it doesn't touch any of the ignition system. I'd say go either OEM or Invader, both look awesome IMO.
DAng...I've never seen it on a 4th gen that didn't have some crazy kit--it looks really nice on your ride.

I think the extreme hood is the way to go, it is actually functional( hot air rises), my friend has it on his civic and man you can feel a serious amount of hot air coming outta it, just sitting at a standstill. You know when you get an aftermaket header the underhood temps shoot way up. I have a friend with a DC sports header on his H23 and his hood is always alot hotter than mine is after the same amount of driving(I have stock header and hood,BTW). The vent on the hood sits directly above the header and behind the radiator, and instead of that hot air from the header blowin around under the hood and heating up other things(cough, ahem, cough, your COLD air intake), it exits immeadiately throught the vent. There's a shop by me that recommends a vented hood after installing a turbo, b/c of the excess heat that turbos produce. I believe that there is a signifigant drop in underhood temps with this hood and if you ask me it really does compliment the looks of even a stock bodied prelude. Peace Out.

That's what my hood does. It's vented, sits right above the header, and when moving, causes a vaccum passing over the vent and pulls the hot air out of the engine bay. Now, how strong of a vaccum it causes I don't know, maybe a little, maybe a lot, but I know that it helps out a lot. Also lets the engine cool down much better because the hot air can just come right out of the vent instead of being trapped in the engine bay.
